What makes Megalopolis so strange and, for a big-budget Hollywood film, so singular, is that, just like Vergil’s Aeneid, it is at once accretive, allusive, and idiosyncratic because Coppola is attempting something very few artists have ever done: to speak from inside the imperial organism, even as it begins to crack, and to craft a vision that is both a monument to its grandeur and a requiem for its decline.

¿Por cierto, soy al único al que le encanta la peli? Magnífica adaptación del cómic, paleta de colores alucinante , gran reparto e interpretaciones (¡Al Pacino!), menos Madonna, ajustada dirección de Beatty (¡parece el cómic en movimiento!), banda sonora colosal de Elfman, llena de cromatismo orquestal y romanticismo años 30... creo que mereció mejor suerte de la que tuvo.

Gran vídeo. Viendo al final las nominadas de este año, puede que yo no hubiera nominado a Lion (y eso que se ha llevado el premio del gremio) y sí hubiera nominado Animales nocturnos.
