Por cierto, Dario Marianelli acaba de cumplir 53 ańos. Es uno de los mejores compositores en activo actualmente, con una formación fiera de lo común a mi juicio, aunque su eclosión en este medio fuese algo tardía y su nombre siga siendo relativamente desconocido debido al tipo de películas en las que participa y su estilo anacrónico.
Llevaba bastantes ańos haciendo documentales y series para la BBC antes de encadenar, en el ańo 2005, tres proyectos que lo pusieron en primera plana: el secreto de los hermanos Grimm, de Gilliam,V de Vendetta, de los hermanitos, y sobre todo, del debut de Joe Wright, Orgullo y Prejuicio, inicio de una fructífera colaboración que nos ha dado alguna de las mejores partituras de la última década.
Por muchos ańos.
MIK, que nunca te he preguntado... żtú que opinas del italiano?. żHas escuchado/tienes algo suyo?.
PD: Esto dice Conrado Xalabarder sobre su formación:
"Nació en Pisa (Italia), el 25 de mayo de 1963. Estudió piano y composición en Florencia y Londres. Tras graduarse en la Guildhall School of Music and Drama, fue becado por la Fundación Gulbenkian para un curso en la Bretton University College, y completó su formación en Alemania. Trabajó para la BBC antes de dar el salto al cine".

żCrees que la ruptura entre Wright y Marianelli en Pan ha sido momentánea o será permanente? Ya, sé que fue imposición del estudio, pero estas situaciones suelen crear mala sangre, y espero que no se hayan distanciado, me parecían una de las mejores colaboraciones director-compositor surgidas en este siglo. żTe das cuenta, por cierto, de que las tres veces que el italiano ha sido nominado al oscar (llevándoselo a casa una de esas veces), ha sido por sus colaboraciones con Wright?
Me doy cuenta, si. Esperemos que no sea así y sigan colaborando en el futuro. Lo mismo podría decirse de Shyamalan y JNH, que también están en un impasse ahora...

Si, una verdadera lástima, por que es un actor estupendo. Y no se trata de que sea demasiado excéntrico o raro, puesto que personajes así los ha habido en toda su carrera, pero antes los interiorizaba y cargaba de matices y humanidad... y ahora se suele quedar en la burda caricatura mímica.
El Depp de los 90 o de principios de siglo podía haber hecho maravillas con un personaje con un trasfondo psicológico tan interesante como Willy Wonka (no bromeo), y sin embargo salió lo que salió.
Baste comparar con Bonham Carter, que jamás dejo de tomarse en serio sus interpretaciones junto a Burton, más bien al contrario.
En esta película está casi tan bien como Pacino, que ya es decir.
Eso si, en Black Mass vuelve a estar espectacular, todo hay que decirlo.
