Hace pocas horas se ha conocido el palmarés del Festival de Cine de Sundance, la pequeña localidad del estado de Utah, y el festival que ha propulsado el actor Robert REdford durante años.
De aquí han salido todo este tiempo, propuestas muy interesantes, tanto americanas como del resto del mundo, que no tenían cabida en otros festivales.
El año pasado, sin ir más lejos, fue Whiplash la gran triunfadora y ya vemos a dónde ha lllegado.
La gran triunfadora este año es la cinta Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, dirigida por Alfonso Gomez-Rejon. Hasta ahora, este director había hecho cosas para televisión (Glee, American horror history), y participado en la segunda unidad de dirección en películas como Julie and Julia, Babel o Argo.

Me And Earl está siendo aclamada por la crítica allí enviada, y trata con delicadeza la amistad entre jóvenes, cuando uno de ellos tiene cáncer. Se ha llevado el premio gordo del jurado, en drama, y también el del público, en esta categoría. Igual que hizo Whiplash el año pasado.
Otras películas destacadas y premiadas han sido The Witch, ganadora en la dirección de drama o The Stanford Prison Experiment, a mejor guión.
