Han salido las nominaciones de los Satellite Awards, unos premios que desde 1997, la International Press Academy otorga a lo más destacado del año en cine, televisión y hasta juegos y ediciones domésticas de films. Los ganadores, el 19 de febrero.

Y el completo ninguneo a Jackie... al menos Larraín tiene una mención en top cinco extranjero con Neruda...

Doctor, si no te importa, voy a dejar yo también colgado los premios. He estado unos minutos buscando otra página porque por primera vez, la oficial de la National Board of Review no permitía el corta y pega. Al final, Variety (como siempre) sacándome del apuro.

Valoración? Pues que a lo mejor no influye nada o casi nada en los Oscar, como se dice, pero que me alegro de los premiados. Al menos, ya tienen el reconocimiento de una asociación conocida.

Añado para puntualizar que la National Board of Review tiene 107 años de historia. Y está formada por aficionados al cine, cineastas, profesionales, académicos (profesores) y estudiantes, muchos de los cuales han votado tras asistir a interesantísimas presentaciones (Q&As) de los profesionales de las películas (directores, actores, productores o guionistas), charlas, debates, etc...

Es decir, son gente que no les debe nada a nadie y que votan con un criterio formado.

Como no, Tomas. Además están más completos Yo los he copiado de un foro americano casi al minuto de saberse la primera lista, y no habían puesto aún los top de películas...

Es cierto que la NBR suele ir un poco a su aire... en los próximos días, con las candidaturas de los Critics' y las asociaciones de críticos sabremos un poco más de cómo va el tema...

En principio el tema de las nominaciones parece bastante claro, al menos en las categorias principales. Faltaría por ver si Julieta se mete en la terna final.

El gremio de directores (Directors Guild of America) va a premiar este año a Ridley Scott con el Lifetime Achievement Award en este 2016. La importancia de este galardón es tal que sólo 35 (con él) han sido los directores premiados. En los últimos 10 años, solo Clint Eastwood, Norman Jewison y Milos Forman recibieron tal distinción.

"El maestro en cualquier género", como le ha catalogado el presidente de los directores, Paris Barclay (toda una joya en la dirección de series de tv), se une así a un selecto grupo formado por John Ford, Frank Capra, George Stevens, William Wyler, Alfred Hitchcock, George Cukor, John Huston, Billy Wilder, Orson Welles, Bergman, Kurosawa, Coppola, Spielberg, Scorsese...

Además, ha estado nominado al premio a mejor director por el gremio en 4 ocasiones (Thelma y Louise, Gladiator, Black hawk down y el año pasado, con Marte)

Mañana es el verdadero pistoletazo de salida de la temporada, con las nominaciones de los Critic´s Choice y los premios de la crítica de Nueva York. Presiento que está va a ser una larga y tortuosa temporada de premios con, por ahora, ninguna película claramente favorita ... La La Land quizá? Ya veremos

Solo decir que en los Critics´s Choice Awards, no tendrán cabida películas como “Silence,” “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” “Passengers,” y “Collateral Beauty”.

Sus miembros (los de la Broadcast Film Critics Association) no la han visto a tiempo para votarla.

Bueno... no pasa nada, pueden volver a hacer la "chapuza" del año pasado, e incluir alguna de ellas a posteriori (como hicieron con "El despertar de la fuerza")

Vaya parche! NO se yo si volverán a repetir la jugada. Al final, la polémica fue mayor y dos miembros dimitieron. No se yo si les compensa en cuanto a audiencia (el canal donde se emiten A&E, es mitad de Disney).
Antes hubo incluso otro precedente, con la inclusión fuera de hora de Náufrago, la película de Robert Zemeckis.

En cualquier caso, y es algo que hemos comentado en los hilos de años anteriores, yo no me tomo en serio estos premios. Tantas categorías diluyen la importancia, en mi opinión.
