Centrándome en la categoría de dirección, diría que ahora mismo el realizador a batir es Jane Campion. Y viendo tanta mención, ya no veo tan descabellada otra nominación para Villeneuve. Con las nominaciones del DGA (que suelen coincidir en unos cuatro nominados con las nominaciones al Oscar) creo que se aclarara bastante la carrera en esta categoría,

es pronto, pero yo lo solté el otro día y alguien comentó que ni de coña. Si se lo dieron a Zoe este año, con peli y media en su haber, más motivaciones tendrán algunos académicos para votar por Campion.
De todas formas, este año me da el pálpito y no se en qué categoría importante, que veremos un Moonlight. No hay esa favorita extraordinaria, más allá de que El poder del perro esté gustando mucho a la crítica.

Sí, por ahora no hay una película claramente favorita (que eso tampoco quiere decir nada que hasta finales de febrero pueden pasar muchas cosas)

Pero dicho esto, viendo los premios de la crítica (que es verdad que los gremios ya fijan más la foto y pueden hacer cambiar tendencias establecidas por los premios de la crítica) diría que por ahora los ganadores podrían ser Campion y Smit-McPhee, por cantidad de premios y nominaciones recibidas.

Yo no veo El poder del perro ganadora de dirección y película. No creo que sea una película recordada en años. Las últimas películas no tienen el aroma de esas películas de los 90 que eran recordadas. Sin ir más lejos, me voy a la última ganadora, Nomadland ¿quien se acuerda ya de ella?

Lo mismo pasa en muchas categorías, anoche me dispuse a ver en YouTube la actuación de Molly Sanden en los Oscar, Husavik, para mi era la ganadora moral de la mejor canción de 2020. ¿Quien se acuerda del nombre de la canción ganadora? Nadie. En YouTube podéis ver miles de comentarios diciendo que fue un robo, que era la digna ganadora, que Molly es de las mejores voces europeas, etc.

Y todo esto deriva a que se están otorgando mal los premios, ¿y por qué lo hacen? ¿Los académicos acaso no ven las películas? ¿En los oscars técnicos no deberían valorar el componente técnico que se premia -el vestuario, la canción, el maquillaje- más allá de la calidad del film? Todas estas injusticias desembocan en un hartazgo generalizado de estos premios y si a eso le sumas que por el gran público El poder del perro no ha gustado -en Netflix está muerta-, dudo que se lleve los premios gordos.

Yo preveo dirección Jane Campion y película para otra.

La Crítica de Nevada ha anunciado sus ganadores.
Mi amigo Guillermo se lleva el de mejor director pero el de película se va para CODA.

Yo dije eso,aunque teniendo en cuenta la tontería progre no me extrañaría ya tanto.

Entonces ¿si gana Campion el Oscar es por tontería progre?

No sé, para mí, la suya (de las vistas) es una de las mejores labores de dirección de la temporada (para mí, junto con Villeneuve y Sorrentino) y me parece normal, por tanto, que esté siendo premiada.

Pues yo tengo que revisionar Dune porque a día de hoy la labor de Villeneuve me parece sobrevaloradísima.

¿Logrará la cuarta nominación consecutiva con Don’t Look Up? Esta es una de las más expectantes incógnitas en la categoría de mejor actor.

En las webs de expertos gurús se sitúa entre la 6ª y 7ª posición.

La Crítica de Carolina del Norte (para que nos hagamos una idea, son 55 críticos que viven o trabajan en ese Estado) anunciaron sus nominados para el 2021.

Será Drive My Car la nueva Parásitos? Es increíble el buen trato que está recibiendo. Estamos hablando de un director como Ryûsuke Hamaguchi que hasta hace unos años su mayor logro fue recibir una mención especial en el Festival de Locarno, probablemente el más alternativo de todos.

Será Drive My Car la nueva Parásitos? Es increíble el buen trato que está recibiendo. Estamos hablando de un director como Ryûsuke Hamaguchi que hasta hace unos años su mayor logro fue recibir una mención especial en el Festival de Locarno, probablemente el más alternativo de todos.

Sin tener ni idea, más que nada porque no sigo estas cosas, supongo que el fenómeno del año pasado sería (aparte de una operación de marketing) también el resultado de que a fin de cuentas Bong Joon-ho es un director bastante comercial que hace películas muy accessibles, estén dialogadas en inglés o en coreano. De este Ryûsuke Hamaguchi no he visto nada pero a primera vista me parece que su película será más personal e intimista, y no creo que eso llegue a perforar el etnocentrismo de Hollywood de la forma en que lo hizo Parasite.

De todas formas, desde que los Oscar nominan nosecuantas películas para el premio principal, tampoco me parecería muy transgresor que se colase una extranjera simplemente como decorado de fondo. Los Oscar para mí son unos premios de mierda, y ya en los últimos años ha habido algunas inclusiones (Black Panther en 2018, la mamarrachada aquella sobre violaciones el año pasado, etc) que hacen que no les vea lógica ninguna incluso dentro de la perspectiva pro-industria, pro-mainstream, pro-américa que siempre han tenido.

En el último día del año, la Greater Western New York Critics Association anunció sus ganadores.

La sorpresa la dio Pig, que se hizo con varios premios importantes, sobre todo, mejor película. También The power of the dog se llevó una parte importante del pastel.

Me parecería muy raro que los Bafta la ignorasen porque viendo su recorrido, puede sumar menciones en película, actriz, película internacional, actriz y música. Desde el año pasado los Bafta se desmarcan de seguir la tendencia de nominadas típicas de la temporada de premios.

El domingo se celebran los globos de oro ...
