- Does the Sharp 1366x768 resolution or a plasmas 1024x768 mean a better match for the new Samsung HD950 upconvert DVD player that can do a 768p resolution?
upconverting DVD players, most of the TVs out there will NOT synchronize with an external input at 768p. Instead, they will require 720p or 1080i and scale the signal internally. That's the case for my Pioneer and I believe that's the case for thhe new Panasonics as well. You may want to download the product manuals and review them. So, it may not matter that the Samsung DVD player is able to output 768p. If your TV has a superior scaler (definitely the case for Pioneers), you may be better off outputting 480p (or even 480i) and letting the TV doing the scaling.
por cierto que esto lo que comenta otro forero sobre HTPC y las Panasonic TH42px25u (USA)

Since I'm the HTPC guru, he expects me to help get everything working smoothly for him. I'm worried by the fact that no one seems to have had a great experience with this combination. I have a guess as to why that may be. It sounds like most of the problems are coming when you try to connect the computer to one of the ports on the back... like the HDMI port (DVI). It is my understanding that none of those ports can display a 720p signal, only 480i, 480p, and 1080i.
que como no lo hayan cambiado en las nuevas... :apaleao
