En una pequeña entrevista en Comic-Con Rob dice que la película no se estrenará hasta 2013. Malas noticias, la espera será larga.



Y además su nuevo proyecto parece que será fuera del género: Broad Street Bullies, film sobre hockey ambientado en los 70.

Hoy ha terminado la post-producción de la película, ciertamente larga si tenemos en cuenta que su rodaje terminó en diciembre de 2011 (parece que ha alternado este trabajo con la grabación de su nuevo disco). A partir de ahora se exhibirá en diferentes festivales hasta su estreno oficial en la primavera de 2013. Sólo nos queda gritar aquello de:

Cinematically, I wanted to do something different, 'cause I've done all the other movies - and I like that style - sort of handheld and rough and kind of in your face, but I wanted to do something that was much more (...) controlled and composed, so it didn't seem like 'oh, I'll just throw up a hand cam and grab it'. All the shots are very symmetrical and composed... Which is kind of a stupid thing to do when you don't have a long shooting schedule, because sometimes setting up the shot takes forever and you're losing so much time doing it, but once I locked into that style I couldn't really vary from it. But, amazingly, it got done and it makes the movie look gigantic compared to the other films, because it just has this really grand approach to it. Which is really what I wanted to do. I couldn't find a lot of movies that really had the look of what I was going for. All of the Stanley Kubrick films have that look and then the vibe of a lot of Roman Polanski's films and then kind of the weirdness of Ken Russell's movies, you know... If Ken Russell directed The Shining.

Más o menos esto es lo que cuenta en el vídeo de arriba. Leer esto y viendo el reparto que ha reunido... Es un sueño para cualquier fan del cine fantástico. Zombie sabe muy bien lo que se hace, y si Lords of Salem tiene los encuadres perfectos de Mr. Kubrick la cosa será impresionante:

Qué impresionantes quedan las imágenes de las películas con la B.S.O. de "Réquiem por un sueño"

Me encanta ese tema. No es para escucharlo a diario, pero me parece tan especial, con tanta fuerza, y al mismo tiempo, tan desolador... Un tema inolvidable.

Por cierto,una pajarito me ha dicho que clausura "Looper",otra buena noticia,aunque esta la estrenan comercialmente el 19 de Octubre.

Muy malas noticias desde Toronto. Al parecer Terrence Malick no es el único que se carga sus repartos, Clint Howard, Udo Kier, Lisa Marie, Richard Lynch, Daniel Roebuck, Barbara Crampton, Camille Keaton, Christopher Knight y Billy Drago (quien ni siquiera llegó a filmar su escena) no aparecen en el montaje final.

En este vídeo justifica la decisión, supuestamente suya:



No sé si será el montaje definitivo, pero espero que NO desde luego.

Algunas reacciones tras su pase en Toronto:

@Gary Pullen: Turns out Lords of Salem is Zombie's best film to date. Wisely, it replaces Redneck dialogue and toilet humor (though some still of that still lingers) with large doses of Jodorowski and Kubrick-esque visuals. The ending is a plate of scrambled eggs but Meg Foster's brave performance as the town witch steals the show.

Según Zombie Richard Lynch estaba muy enfermo durante el rodaje (parece ser que incluso estaba medio ciego) y sus escenas no terminaban de cuadrar. Pensó en corregirlas volviendo a rodar con el actor pero murió. El director lamenta este echo y expresa su aprecio por el actor. Andrew Prine ("Grizzly", "Terror al anochecer", "Profecía diabólica", "Amityville II") le sustituye en el papel:



Sid Haig, Michael Berryman y Lisa Marie aparecen en sendos cameos de un minuto, reduciendo drásticamente su participación en el film. Bruce Dern y Billy Drago no pudieron rodar sus papeles por no estar disponibles. Udo Kier, Camille Keaton, Daniel Roebuck y Clint Howard aparecían en un film ficticio y parece que esa escena se ha eliminado del montaje final.

Barbara Crampton y Chris Knight tenían una escena en la TV de Salem, pero tampoco aparecerá en el montaje definitivo. Así las cosas, al menos tendremos material suculento en los extras de su edición en DVD.

Si ya tenía muchas ganas de verla,despues de leer esas dos críticas más todavía.Menos mal que en ambas críticas dicen que es una peli que la gente amara u odiara,porque si llega a gustar a todo el mundo,malo,malo....
