Creo haber averiguado de dónde viene la obsesión de Lucas por sacar manos y brazos cortados en casi todas las películas de Star Wars:
Esas imágenes casi surrealistas, buñuelianas, de las manos cortadas, son de la maravillosa Yojimbo, de Kurosawa, director del que Lucas es un declarado fan. El protagonista de Yojimbo también se esconde bajo el suelo para escapar de sus perseguidores, como hacen Han y Luke en Una nueva esperanza.
Hay por lo menos, como comenté en otro hilo, una amputación de mano o brazo en cada película de la saga.
