We´re The Millers está funcionando muy bien. Una pena por la de Percy Jackson. Y buena recaudación para la versión 3D de El Mago de Oz. Despicable Me 2 podría llegar fácilmente a los 400 en USA.
De Agosto comentar el monumental éxito de We're the Millers, que acabará con 150 millonazos, y The Butler, que ha conectado con el público más adulto y terminará con 115 m. Elysium ha hecho números muy similares a Oblivion en todo el mundo. Supone un paso atrás respecto a District-9, aún con todo se le puede calificar como un éxto decente.
En Septiembre ha sobresalido Prisoners, thriller con Hugh Jackman y un gran reparto que acabará con unos muy respetables 70-75 millones. Luego llegó Insidious 2, lo partió, como todo el terror que está llegando este año (ha quedado cerca de los 41 m. que cosechó The Conjuring este verano) y esos 40 m. de Insidious 2 suponen el triple de los que hizo la primera (13 m.), por lo que se ve que el hype que rodeaba esta secuela era enorme tras el buen sabor de boca de la primera parte para los horror fans.
Hoy se estrena Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, secuela del éxito del 2009 que abrió con 30 m. para acabar con más de 120. El mercado esta vacío, sería muy raro y pelín decepcionante que esta vez bajara de los 40 en su OW. Lo esperado son 40-45, si llega a 50 supondría un gran logro. La marca o desafío que se marca es hacer lo que Insidious 2 no ha conseguido hace poco, desbancar a Hotel Transylvania (42 m.) como estreno más grande de la historia de Septiembre. Yo creo que lo conseguirá con unos 45 millones.

9.3 millones de estreno para Cloudy 2, que se trasladarán en unos 35 millones de OW. Pelín decepcionante. Podría acabar en torno a los números de la primera parte, 120 y pico. En el extranjero debería funcionar algo mejor y con un presupuesto bastante ajustado (78), el éxito sigue estando ahí, aunque se esperaba algo más en Usa.

Se estrena Gravity, de Alfonso Cuarón, en lo que es una de las películas más interesantes de analizar del año. Estos son los estrenos sci-fi originales de este año, de las que por cierto ninguna ha sido un éxito destacable.

Llega Gravity, con todo a su favor. Críticas espeluznantes (98% en rottentomatoes), pedigrí de Oscar, director reputado que lleva mucho sin dirigir, George Clooney, Sandra Bullock, acertadísimo marketing y la promesa de que es una de esas pelis must see para el espectador medio por su aspecto visual y 3D. Ah, el mercado está completamente abierto para que el éxito sea seguro. Si no supera a las pelis sci-fi mencionadas sería un buen palo teniendo todo esto a su favor. Cualquier cosa por debajo de 40 sería decepcionante. Creo que la cosa se moverá en torno a 40-45 OW, seguido de una trayectoria larguísima hasta más de 200.
