Los últimos trabajos de Coixet, Leigh, To, Yamada o Guédiguian en la Berlinale 2008

La organización de la 58ª edición del Festival Internacional de Cine de Berlín - Berlinale 2008, que se celebrará entre el 7 y el 17 de Febrero de 2008, ha confirmado la participación de los últimos trabajos de Isabel Coixet, Mike Leigh, Johnnie To o Yoji Yamada en su Sección Oficial .

De este modo, "Elegy" de Isabel Coixet, "Julia" de Erick Zonca, "Lady Jane" de Robert Guédiguian, "Happy Go Lucky" de Mike Leigh, "Sparrow" de Johnnie To, "Kabei" de Yoji Yamada", "Cherry Blossoms" de Doris Dörrie, "Gardens of the Night" de Damian Harris, "Pozos de Ambición" de Paul Thomas Anderson, "Standard Operating Procedure" de Errol Morris, "Caos calmo" de Antonello Grimaldi, "Feuerherz" de Luigi Faloni, "Restless" de Amos Kollek, "In Love We Trust" de Wang Xiaoshuai, "Lake Tahoe" de Fernando Eimbcke y "Tropa de Elite" de José Padilha optarán al Oso de Oro mientras que "Katyń" de Andrzej Wajda será presentada en estreno mundial fuera de competición.

En la categoría K Plus de la Sección Generaciones participarán "Buda explotó por vergüenza" de Hana Makhmalbaf, "Flower in the Pocket" de Liew Seng Tat, "A Tale of Two Mozzies" de Jannik Hastrup y Flemming Quist Moeller, "Chop Shop" de Ramin Bahrani, "Hey Hey It’s Esther Blueburger" de Cathy Randall, "Mutum" de Sandra Kogut, "The Lives Of Titanic The Cat" de Grethe Boe y "Where Is Winky’s Horse?" de Mischa Kamp.

En la categoría 14 Plus optarán a premio "32A" de Marian Quinn, "Ciao Bella" de Mani Maserrat-Agah, "Cidade dos Homens" de Paulo Morelli, "Fighter" de Natasha Arthy, "Munyurangabo" de Lee Isaac Chung, "September" de Peter Carstairs y "The Black Balloon" de Elissa Down.

El Forum de la Berlinale contará con dos invitados de excepción, Guy Maddin e Isabella Rosellini. Si Rosellini presentará el tríptico "Green Porn" (tres cortometrajes de un minuto sobre la reproducción en el mundo de los insectos), Maddin llegará a Berlín para la premiere europea de "My Winnipeg", una película que inaugurará la sección y que ya fue aclamada en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Toronto. "My Winnipeg" es un documental surrealista (él lo llama "docu-fantasía) que ejerce la función de homenaje a su ciudad natal.

El Oso de Oro honorífico será para el realizador italiano Francesco Rosi.

World Premiere of Martin Scorsese’s Shine A Light to open the 58th Berlin International Film Festival

The Rolling Stones concert film Shine A Light from Oscar® winning director Martin Scorsese will open the festival on February 7, 2008 with the director and band in attendance.

Scorsese assembled an award-winning camera team to capture the raw energy of the world’s greatest rock ‘n roll band in two concerts at the Beacon Theatre, N.Y., on October 29th and November 1st 2006. Using sixteen cameras, more than half a million feet of concert footage were shot. The two concerts with special guest performances from Jack White of the White Stripes, Christina Aguilera, and Buddy Guy form the heart of the film. Shine A Light also features rarely-seen archival footage and current behind the scenes footage and interviews. With this extensive camera coverage and the intimacy of the setting, Scorsese has created an extraordinary musical film event and given audiences unprecedented access to the Rolling Stones both on stage and off.

Oscar®-winning cinematographer Robert Richardson (The Aviator, JFK) supervised a team which included several highly acclaimed directors of photography: Oscar® winner John Toll (The Last Samurai, Braveheart); Oscar® winner Andrew Lesnie (The Lord of the Rings trilogy, King Kong); Oscar® nominee Stuart Dryburgh (The Piano, The Painted Veil), Oscar® nominee Robert Elswit (Magnolia, Good Night and Good Luck); Oscar® nominee Emmanuel Lubezki (Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, Sleepy Hollow); and Ellen Kuras (Summer of Sam, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind).

Shine A Light was produced by Steve Bing's Shangri-La Entertainment and long-time Stones Tour Promoter Michael Cohl's Concert Promotions International.

“We are extremely excited to have the World Premiere of this magnificent film as our opening gala,” says Festival Director Dieter Kosslick. “Martin Scorsese has captured the pure essence of an iconic band on the big screen”.

The distributor Kinowelt will release the film in Germany in spring 2008.

Los stones siempre interesan, que para eso son la banda de rock mas longeva que sigan en activo. Y encima dirigidos por Scorsese.

No, su marido se llama Daniel Moder, esta la dirige el debutante Dennis Lee.
junto a Roberts estan Emily Watson, Carrie-Anne Moss, Ryan Reynolds,y Willem Dafoe.
es un drama familiar.
