Oscar 2023

La Universidad del Sur de California lleva años entregando premios, los USC Scripter Award, tanto en cine como televisión, al mejor guión adaptado, conjuntamente con el autor o autores del material de partida de esa adaptación.

Me encanta ver a los dos protagonistas de Good Luck to You, Leo Grande nominados. Magníficas y valientes actuaciones.

No sé, yo sí le veo ganando en Oscar a director (y puede que Williams en banda sonora). Está nominado al DGA, que creo que es el precursor que más cuenta, ha ganado el Globo de oro y el resto de posibles nominados en dirección al Oscar diría que van a ser debutantes en la nominación (Kosinski, Field, los Daniels, Mcdonagh, Sarah Polley, Edward Berger, Park Chan-wook...) pero sin ser debutantes en la dirección (que por ejemplo creo que fue más una ventaja que una rémora para Sam Mendes, por ejemplo) y alguno además dirigiendo una película en lengua no inglesa (recordemos que Hazanavicius ganó con una película muda pero con textos en inglés).

Creo que los BAFTA han dejado de ser un referente en muchos aspectos de la carrera hacia los Oscars y se han distanciado mucho de la perspectiva más americana de estos premios.
Quizá se vean beneficiadas candidaturas como la de Ana de Armas u otras que necesitaban estar en el buzz para el apoyo definitivo.
Sin embargo, veo a Spielberg como justo y merecidísimo ganador del Oscar a Mejor Dirección y si gana el DGA puede que sea su apoyo definitivo. El ninguneo en los Bafta hacia su película es de vergüenza ajena porque en muchas categorías como el Score o la misma Película, todo el sector especializado da por hecho que The Fabelmans tendrá Nominaciones a los Oscars.
Vamos a ver primero los Gremios qué dirección toman, desde los de Actores (con el premio al mejor reparto), el DGA y el PGA. Si alguien puede poner en riesgo su tercer Oscar quizá sea los Daniels si al final su película acaba recogiendo tantos premios como parece y se ven beneficiados por el efecto conjunto (como pasó con Parásitos).

Me gusta mucho Todo a la vez en todas partes pero no me cabe en la cabeza que esté arrasando de esta manera en todos los premios. Es que parece que no hay competencia. Claro que no he visto a muchas de las nominadas pero, o la calidad es normalita y esta sobresale, o algo pasa entre la crítica especializada (me inclino por esto último).

No sé, pienso que es una película muy resultona y la mar de intereresante que parece que ha aglutinado el deseo de la crítica de premiar algo digamos más original (al menos a priori) de la media. Acabada de ver Babylon, esa podría haber sido otra película que podría haber gustado porque también exuberante y excesiva... pero claro parece que el autorretrato del mundo del cine que aparece en ella no ha terminado de gustar, precisamente, a la crítica.

Tampoco a canción ni a mejor guión adaptado la de Pinocho, que eran otras dos grandes bazas. Sorprende lo de Triangle of sadness que no es que haya entusiasmado.

Muchos compañeros de profesión han alabado estos últimos días su trabajo y parece que ha surtido efecto.

A mí es una actriz que me gusta mucho, creo que siempre está bien en pantalla y parece que aquí hace un papelón.

Cierto y por eso lo he mencionado, añadiendo a Desplat.

No estuve entusiasmado con el trabajo de Lux y Hurtwitz esta bien, pero tampoco me ha enamorado.

Añado, lo de Bertelmann es un caso: el score no ha convencido a casi nadie, a pesar de la efectivad del mismo dentro de la pelicula.
