Más vale que este año se curren una gala de los Oscar amena, rápida y divertida, porque lo que van a ser los premios tienen pinta de poca variedad y sorpresa.

A veces me da la sensación que año en que gana un musical, año flojo.

No me gustan los musicales. De hecho no iré a ver la "¿favorita?" porque me causan malestar general ver una película donde todos se ponen a cantar. En fin, gustos míos. Solo pasa Grease por el aro porque le gusta a mi familia y siempre estaba puesta.

Pero no estoy de acuerdo con lo que dices. Porque en 2002 Chicago se llevó el Oscar y habían películas como El Pianista, Gangs of New York. Así como la segunda parte de ESDLA.

Yo les hago solo caso a los Oscars. Celebro una fiesta cada gala con amigos a los que invito a toda clase de comida. Es un día especial para mí. A veces vienen más y otros menos. Me da igual la película. Solo exijo gala. Y cierto es que solo Ellen DeGeneres ha sabido convencerme de entre las últimas. Hugh Jackman fue el anterior.

Aparte de su categoría de película british, lo que más me llama la atención en cuanto a toque propio de los BAFTA es la aparicion de YO, Daniel Blake, de Ken Loach, Emily Blunt por La chica del tren (que le han dado fuerte la crítica) y la agradable aparición de Julieta, demostrando que a Pedro lo quieren muchísimo en las islas británcias. Recordemos que ya tiene 5 Baftas (2 por Todo sobre mi madre, como director y como película extranjera, 2 por Hable con ella, como guionista y como película extranjera, y 1 por La piel que habito, como película extranejra).

Sería agradabilísimo que volviera a conseguir esta hazaña. Cruzo los dedos.

Más allá del discurso de Meryl hubo otros momentos destacados. Como el beso que se dieron "de consolación" entre Garfield (ex de Emma Stone) y Reynolds, cuando Gosling salió a recibir el Globo de Oro a mejor actor de comedia o musical.
La reacción posterior de Stone y Gosling es bastante graciosa.

Los BAFTA parece que respescan un poco a La llegda y Animales nocturnos. Me gusta que se acuerden de nominar a Gyllenhaal (al que ya premiaron en su día) y sobre todo me parece intereante que nomien también a Aaron Taylor-Johnson lo que puede verse como una convalidación del Globo de oro que acaba de ganar. Aunque bien es verdad que el factor de ser británico puede haber influido en la nominación (como en el caso de Blunt). De todas formas está nominación al BAFTA (y el Globo de oro) creo que hacen más viable su nominación al Oscar.

De las diez nominaciones del PGA habrá que ver cuántas llegan a los Oscars. Yo creo que allí habrá 8 nominadas. Yo no veo nominada al Oscar a Deadpool, a las otras 9 sí creo que tangas posibilidades, junto a Animales nocturnos.

Qué gustito me da el ver nominada por los productores a Deadpool. EStá claro ya que no es una simple película de acción con héroe. Es algo distinto, con una mezcla estupenda de sensaciones, que no ha dejado indiferente a casi nadie.

En los últimos años, desde que se abrió el abanico hasta 10, se ha visto que el número de nominadas en los Oscar a mejor película ha ido decreciendo. Primero, 10, después, 9 y en los últimos dos años, 8.
Si este año sigue esa tónica, más de 8 no habrá. Ahora mismo, diría que Deapool y Fences se quedan fuera, aunque también podría ser Lion (porque Rudin y Washington tras Fences pueden tener sus influencias).

La ASC ha retrasado el anuncio de sus nominados a mañana, así que habrá que esperar para saber cuáles son las elegidas a mejor fotografía

En cuanto a las películas elegidas por la PGA, me parecen unas decisiones bastante "obvias" y de poco riesgo, como por otra parte es norma en un Gremio donde lo que se valora es la cualidad de un Film como producción "de éxito" en todos los sentidos. Si Deadpool está ahí no es tanto por su "calculada irreverencia", sino por ser una producción relativamente modesta que ha sido un megataquillazo en los cines.

Es de suponer que en los Oscars haya dos o tres películas que se caigan y se cuele alguna otra. Silencio quizás? Viendo el percal ahora mismo es poco posible, pero quien sabe... las que parecen completamente descolgadas ya son Sully, Loving, 20th Century women o Jackie.

Estando de acuerdo con el Doctor en todo, sin embargo yo no diferenciaría (me cuesta mucho y además, no me apetece) el logro artístico de Deadpool del económico. Si ha sido el éxito que ha sido en taquilla se debe a lo primero, y yo, sinceramente, creo que esto también lo ven los productores y lo valoran. De hecho, el año pasado se valoraron films como Ex machina, o Straight outta compton, con mayor o menor taquilla, pero que aportaban algo distinto.
En este sentido, yo creo que los Productores, en sus premios y nominaciones, son más abiertos que los académicos en los Oscar, y por tanto, no les tiembla el pulso en considerar películas de distintos géneros, de distintas taquilllas, etc...

Como nota personal, tras ver la lista de los BAFTA, es que me alegro de las 5 nominaciones, técnicas en su mayoría, que ha cosechado Animales Fantásticos (a pesar que la BSO de Newton Howard la están dejando muy olvidada). Aunque al final no vaya a ganar nada, representa el mejor resultado para el universo Potter desde los 7 que logro hace ya 15 años la primera entrega.

Sobre las aspiraciones de Deadpool que habéis estado comentando, me sorprendería muchísimo que lograse pasar el corte de la Academia. Es cierto que la premisa de ampliar la lista de Mejor Película se hizo para apaciguar las protestas por lo de TDK, pero es que desde que se aplica que nunca se ha nominado a ningún blockbuster. Lo mas lejos fueron las dos animadas de Pixar consecutivas, y llevamos un par de años que el tope al que llegan es a 8 películas de 10 posibles...

Todos los años digo que este premio que otorga la Universidad del Sur de California, el USC Scripter award, es uno de mis favoritos. Y lo es porque es el único que premia conjuntamente a autor de una novela y al responsable de adaptarla a la pantalla.

Parece que va a haber muchos nombres nuevos entre los nominados al Oscar. Si no me equivoco de estos cinco solamente Prieto ha sido ya candidato.

Por ahora solalmente he visto el trabajo de Bradford Young y creo que podría ser un premiado de categoría. A ver si este fin de semana veo los trabajos de Prieto y Sandgren.
