Acabo de ver la noticia por el movil en Variety y por poco se me cae al suelo.
Está claro que si hay una categoría donde los votantes hacen lo que le sale de la peineta es esta de mejor película extranjera.
Un grupo de ellos, seleccionado, deben ver y acreditar los films. Ya digo yo que es un grupo muy reducido el que cumple los requisitos.
Hay dos que esperaba: Iran con The salesman, porque este director gusta mucho, y Toni ERdmann, por Alemania, que ahora parece la más probable ganadora. De todas formas, ojo con The salesman. Ene sta categoría no hace falta mucho hype para que alguna gane.

En la crítica, Moonlight sigue una cabeza por encima de La la land, y su director es el ganador indiscutible. Se fortalece la presencia de Portman y la de Manchester (por su actor, y por el guión, ahora que Moonlight va por adaptado).
 
Negativamente sorprendido por la preselección en película de habla no inglesa. Yo daba como seguras a Neruda y Elle y casi también segura a Julieta. Parece que Toni Erdmanm se establece como favorita ya que no veo a Asghar Farhadi ganando un segundo Oscar tras sólo cinco años del primero.

Y parece que Dolan puede estar nominado, es verdad que puede chocar esto, como bien ha expuesto fshtravis

Tiene gracia que el aparente peor trabajo de Dolan sea el preseleccionado.

pero yo me quedo con lo de aparente. Parece que la crítica le tenía ganas a Dolan este año en Cannes y que fuero un poco a degüello. El trailer a mí me parece que muestra otra evolución de Dolan (ese uso constante dle primer plano sobre los actores). A ver si es eso lo que se le echa en cara que no se acomode en lo que rueda y cómo lo rueda.

yo creo que no interfiere. Ni perjudica ni beneficia. Porque la gran masa de votantes, lo hace con independencia de esa categoría (vamos, igual que documentales o cortos). Más importante es la nominación del gremio (en este caso, de actores).
 
Estamos ya en diciembre, y la presencia de Huppert en muchos lugares importantes, ya se ha dado. Además, que no vaya por la categoría de película extranjera no interfiere para que pueda ser votada en las demás categorías. Yo no tengo dudas de que van a poner todo el empeño para conseguir esa nominación a mejor actriz principal. Al tiempo.

Las Vegas apuesta por Nocturnal Animals, y es la primera que no toma en consideración apenas a Moonlight, que parecía que arrasaba. POrtman sigue forteleciendo su candidatura.
Todavía quedan bastantes círculos de críticos.
