Bueno, hoy en día hay mucho talento y las actrices despuntan a una edad cada vez más temprana. Saoirse Ronan con 25 años tiene 3 nominaciones y seguramente se llevará su cuarta nominación. Jennifer Lawrence con 30 años acumula 4 nominaciones y un Oscar.

Si tenemos en cuenta que Meryl Streep consiguió su primera (de 21) nominación con 30 años, estas actrices podrían tener una prolífica carrera y fructífera en premios.

El factor clave pienso que es no estancarse en una etapa de sus vidas. Actrices como Natalie Portman, Nicole Kidman, Michelle Pfeiffer, Kate Winslet, Jennifer Lawrence, estuvieron años o tuvieron una época de auge que estaban nominadas una y otra vez y luego de repente han estado varios años estancadas o que no han hecho nada relevante de ser nominable.
En ese aspecto, Meryl ha sabido renovarse, sobretodo para las mujeres de avanzadas edad que es tan difícil mantenerse en el candelero e interpretar papeles de mujeres de distintas edades y condiciones de manera magistral. Hay muchas que "cuando se les pasa el arroz", por ejemplo, el de mujer atractiva y sexy que vende más en cine, es mucho más difícil verla en activo.

Así pues tiempo al tiempo, pero sí, de entrada Saoirse Ronan o Jennifer Lawrence son meros ejemplos que lo tienen todo a su favor para tener una gran carrera.

lamentablemente estoy de acuerdo con el hecho que indica MacReady, Hollywood es muy machista y las intérpretes femeninas cuando llegan a cierta edad (que además cada vez parece más baja) tiene problemas para encontrar papeles y tienen que buscar más esa renovación que indica MacReady

Por otro lado, también lamentablemente a los intérpretes masculinos, como bien indica rohmerin (casi) nunca se les pasa el arroz, de nuevo el machismo, y ahí siguen con cincuenta o sesenta y muchos teniendo parejas en pantalla a las que doblan la edad.

Este desequilibrio es algo que también vemos, ya por enlazar un poco con el hilo, en los Oscars. Ahí están muchas actrices nominadas o ganadoras antes de llegar a digamos los 30, mientras que los actores rara vez están nomnados (y más raro aún premiados) antes de esa edad.

Ingrid Bergman o Bette Davis están muertas de la envidia con el talento y la carrera de Dolera, ja ja ja, pero mira por donde, ella no me produce rechazo, la niña del exorcista pre-ganadora del Nobel de la paz sí, y me da hasta miedo.

No sólo Hollywood, es que la sociedad y el mundo son misoginos, machistas, heteropatriarcales, opresores, consumistas, etc, etc etc no veganos y todo lo que mi alter ego pelirroja predica... pero no, de la violación en mierdaset GH callada... que ella come de mierdasé.

Tom Cruise lleva 20 años creyendose que tiene 30 años.
 
Lupita parece un valor seguro para estar nominada, salvo ese pequeño traspiés en los Globos, está nominada en casi todo.

Desde su primera, única nominación (y Óscar) por 12 años de esclavitud, ya han pasado 5 años. ¡Vamos Lupita!
 
Un consejo para los foreros. Llevo años colaborando en el hilo de los premios. Se crea cada año para hablar de ellos, a riesgo como siempre de algún off-topic. Pero me parece que no es el lugar adecuado para otros temas, que seguro son más pertinentes en otro lugar del foro, para hablar de temas totalmente ajenos a los premios.

Lo de Adam Sandler me recuerda un poco a lo que ocurrió el año pasado con Ethan Hawke y El Reverendo, estaba en todas las nominaciones del círculo de la crítica, ganando en un buen puñado de ellos, pero fue completamente ignorado a partir de los Globos... A ver si se estrena ya la película. Yo de los hermanos Safdie sólo he visto Good Time, protagonizada por Robert Pattinson y con uno de los hermanos también actuando. La película está francamente bien, y le sacan jugo a Pattinson, así que no dudo de que hayan hecho lo mismo con Sandler, pero le veo desvaneciéndose frente a Eddie Murphy, al que sí que puedo ver en los Oscar.
 
El Círculo de Críticos de Phoenix (no confundir con la Sociedad de Críticos de la misma ciudad) apuesta también por Parasite.

El reparto de 'Knives Out'
 
Que esté Jojo Rabbit en la mayoría de quinielas y no JOKER es de traca, yo creo que PARASITE y JOKER están entre lo mejor del año y con diferencia, pero veo que a la mayoría de críticos no les a gustado la desazón que a dejado en la sociedad el film de Phoenix, normal, es un trabajo que te toca muy adentro ya que nos deja a la totalidad de la sociedad señalada y marcada.
En fin, algo me debo estar perdiendo, y es una pena porque este año hay mucho nivel, pero no para darle esquinazo a Joker, siendo un film tan completo como para estar nominado a mucho más.... montaje, guion, fotografía, sonido, y un largo etc.

Desde que Joker debutó en Toronto, después de venir de Venecia con el León debajo del brazo, no ha contado con el favor de la crítica norteamericana, por decirlo suavemente, así que no sorprende mucho este vacío. Jojo Rabbit, pues habrá que esperar a verla, aunque tampoco es que me mate el ansia. Espero con muchas más ganas The Lighthouse, que mira que están tardando...

THE LIGHTHOUSE es otra de las que tengo pendiente por ver, y JOJO dudo mucho que sea mejor, en fin, es una pena que las distribuidoras en nuestro país tengan una malísima gestión a la hora de valorar cuando tienen que poner un estreno en salas de cine, y esta dejadez ya viene de muchos años atrás.

si Tomás me lo permite, me voy a reír de mi mismo, a mi se me pasó el arroz, el risotto, la paella y hasta la quinoa.
 
Ya han dejado de ser anécdota y son notas comunes la "premiación" a Parasite (está petándolo en la crítica), de Driver, Lupita y hasta Pitt entre los intérpretes. El año pasado, como se ha dicho, se premió mucho a Hawke por El reverendo y se olvidaron de él en los Oscar. Veremos.
 
Mañana Lunes, es el dia en que los Oscars anunciaran las shortlists...
asi que sabremos que pelis pasan el corte y siguen adelante, en estas categorias:
