straight y direct stereo

mi receptor yamaha tiene estos dos modos, cual es la diferencia entre ellos? en modelos superiores esta el pure direct, que diferencia hay entre el pure direct y el direct stereo? pq en teoria los dos hacen lo mismo (marketing??)

(PURE DIRECT)
PURE DIRECT allows you to bypass this unit’s decoders
and DSP processors, and turn off the video circuitry and
front panel display to enjoy pure high fidelity sound from
analog and PCM sources.
Press PURE DIRECT to activate pure direct.
To cancel, press PURE DIRECT again.
The indicator around the front panel button goes out and
the previous settings are restored.
• To avoid unexpected noise, do not play DTS-encoded CDs in
this mode.
• When a multi-channel signal (Dolby Digital or DTS) is input,
this unit automatically switches to the corresponding analog
input.
• No sound will be output from the subwoofer.

Una señal estéreo analógica o PCM de entrada no será convertida a digital, ni se le aplicará DSP alguno. Desconecta circuitos de vídeo y display

In STRAIGHT mode, two channel stereo sources are
output from only the front left and right speakers. Multichannel
sources are decoded straight into the appropriate
channels without any additional effect processing.

Cualquier señal multicanal es convertida a estéro sin aplicar DSP. Es el botón 'Effect' de los antiguos.


'Direct estéreo' podría ser también como el 'Tone bypass' del mío. Convierte a digital la señal analógica y desconecta los potenciómetros de graves y agudos.

He usado un manual del 650 como referencia. Puede no coincidir.
