(April 2, 2020) – Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is proud to debut six of the most acclaimed and beloved films from its library on 4K Ultra HD disc for the first time ever, exclusively within theCOLUMBIA CLASSICS 4K ULTRA HD COLLECTION, available June 16. This must-own set includes iconic favorites that span the studio’s history: MR. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON, LAWRENCE OF ARABIA, DR. STRANGELOVE OR: HOW I LEARNED TO STOP WORRYING AND LOVE THE BOMB, GANDHI, A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN and JERRY MAGUIRE. Each film is fully restored in 4K resolution with High Dynamic Range.
Additionally, this set of fan favorites wouldn’t be complete without the fans themselves making their voices heard! In a recent Sony Pictures Home Entertainment poll, consumers were asked which modern classics they wanted to see included in a 4K gift set. More than 30,000 responses were received, and A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN and JERRY MAGUIRE were the #1 and #2 winners, respectively, ensuring their inclusion within this collection.
The six films in the COLUMBIA CLASSICS 4K ULTRA HD COLLECTION are only available on 4K Ultra HD disc within this special collector’s set with a limited-edition run of fewer than 8,000 units in the U.S. Included with the collection is a gorgeous hardbound 80-page book, featuring in-depth sections about the making of each film within the set via an all-new essay written by acclaimed film historian Julie Kirgo.
In addition, the set also includes an exclusive disc featuring excerpts from Columbia Pictures’ televised 50th anniversary special, which originally aired in 1975 and has never been officially available. These excerpts feature rare on-camera insights from such luminaries as Frank Capra, Phil Silvers and Orson Welles. This exclusive disc also includes the vintage behind-the-scenes documentary “Mr. Attenborough and Mr. Gandhi,” which was filmed on the set of GANDHI and features interviews with cast and crew.

Synopsis:
Nominated for four Academy Awards® including Best Picture (1964), Stanley Kubrick’s black comedy about a group of paranoia-inspired, war-happy generals who manage to initiate an “accidental” nuclear apocalypse, is horribly frightening, delightfully funny and surprisingly relevant to this day. En amazon de Canadá está la contraportada de la caja y en todas las películas hay "Spanish" tanto en audio como en subtítulos. Me imagino que será latino, si fuera castellano sería una sorpresa enorme. Por cierto en Amazon de Estados Unidos ya se permite la reserva/venta para España.

No sé, veremos en junio si las pelis en USA tendrán castellano pero si no contaría con ellos en ediciones separadas para Europa que acabarán saliendo más tarde. Sony, afortunadamente, está de nuestra parte.

Creo que para estas películas solo van a hacer 1 edición, para todos. Dudo que en los 4K tengamos discos europeos y esos subs vienen a confirmarlo. No es algo raro para sony. Con esto quiero decir que, lleve castellano o no, creo que será la única opción de tener esas películas. También quiero creer que teniendo una pista de subs castellanos, también tendremos audio en castellano. Veremos los datos con los demás títulos, pero siendo sony y con las primeras informaciones, creo, podemos ser ligeramente optimistas.

Para mí, quizás es un pelín caro viendo que 1/3 de ese dinero se va a dos títulos que no considero a la altura del resto, ni compraría sueltos.

En lo general por ahora, Sony sigue apoyando el formato UHD por aquí; titulazos como Lawrence de Arabia sería un crimen que no saliesen aquí. Si el UHD del pack no cuenta con audio castellano, yo contaría con alguna edición europea que la tendrá seguro. Cuento conque todas las pelis salgan por separado en Europa y luego en USA, lo que no sabemos es cuando.
Por cierto, la portada del UHD de Lawrence es buena, espero que sea la que salga en Europa también.

Si el UHD del pack no cuenta con audio castellano, yo contaría con alguna edición europea que la tendrá seguro.
Vista la lista de idiomas y de subtítulos, si no hay ningún error, yo descarto totalmente esa opción. Están incluídos todos los mercados "potentes" europeos, y están incluídas las dos variantes de español (y portugués) en los subtítulos. Esa edición está pensada para cubrir el continente americano, europa, europa del este y asia (japon y corea, entre otros...)
Si en ese disco no hay español de España, no lo va a haber en ningún otro.
Lo cual es, en cierto modo, liberador. Teniendo subtítulos, sólo es cuestión de esperar a que cualquier edición baje de precio. No hay por qué esperar, al menos a medio plazo, a ninguna futura edición.

a mi salvo A League of Their Own me interesan todos, lo decia por si alguien sabe mas o menos cuanto suele ser la aduana, porque si es entre 20 a 30 euros me saldra siempre mejor que en usa

Si no recuerdo mal, son unos 20€ fijos por parte del transportista (coste del trámite), más el valor del arancel (el IVA del grupo donde se incluya este artículo en particular, debería ser un 21% del total, contando los portes).
Pero hace más de un año que no les compro. Puedo estar equivocado.
